Since 2012 EPSO and FESPB joined their conferences which were then held as a biannual conference. The most recent one was in Copenhagen in June 2018 and the next one will be in Turin in June 2020.

Between 2002 and 2013 EPSO organised a biannual conference which became the premier plant science meetings in Europe.

EPSO organises workshops bringing distant disciplines together and fostering new promising research areas, they became visionary and high-quality think-tanks in emerging areas of plant science. Workshop participants compile a white paper defining prioritised objectives that are then communicated to the European Commission and national policy markers. The next workshop will be organised by the Tree Biology and Biotechnology Working Group in 2019.

In addition, the EPSO Working Groups organize their Working Group meetings.

The goal of the Fascination of Plants Day (FoPD) is to get as many people as possible around the world fascinated by plants and enthused about the importance of plant science for agriculture, in sustainability producing food, as well as for horticulture, forestry, and all of the non-food products such as paper, timber, chemicals, energy, and pharmaceuticals. The role of plants in environmental conservation is also a key message.

Fascination of Plants Days took place in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017, with thousands of events across the world.  The FoPD is now bi-annual – read the success stories from 2015 and 2017. In-between sporadic events take place in some countries.

The next official Fascination of Plants Day will take place on 18th May 2019.
